Yields: Serves 2

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
2 ounces Absolute Citron vodka or white tequila
1 ounce Cointreau liquor
Cup of ice
Splash of sparkling water (optional)
Squeeze of lemon (optional)

Shake ingredients in a shaker and put in chilled martini glasses. Put pomegranate fruit into glass as garnish.

But this is our personal favorite when it comes to Pomegranate Martinis:

Ingredients:

1/4  cup  orange-flavored vodka
3  tablespoons  chilled pomegranate juice
2  tablespoons  simple syrup
1  tablespoon  orange liqueur
Garnish: lemon slices

Combine first 4 ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake well, and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with lemon slices, if desired.

Peeling the Pomegranate – Before you start extracting the juice from the pomegranate, you must obviously peel the pomegranate. There are many ways to do it, but we've found the easiest way is to cut off the crown of the pomegranate then divide it into quarters. You can then easily scoop out the pomegranate seeds with a spoon.

To make things faster you can just cut the pomegranate along the equator and use a juicer right off the bat to extract the juice. This is the fastest way, but you can sometimes end up with a lot of wasted pomegranate.

Separating the Pomegranate Seeds from the White Membrane – An easy trick to getting all the pomegranate seeds separated from the bitter white skin is too place the quartered pomegranate into a bowl of cold water. The seeds will slowly float to the top, and you can scoop them right out.

Juicing the Pomegranate – There are many ways to go about juicing a pomegranate fruit. Like we explained above, you can cut the pomegranate in half and juice it directly. But if you follow our guide, the next step is to blend the separated pomegranate seeds, or you can place the seeds in a bag and run over them with a rolling pin to get them into juice form.
